Before you ask
The questions that come up most.
How far in advance should I book?
Nick is in high demand, especially for summer and the festive season. Four to eight weeks is comfortable, though last-minute enquiries are always worth making — dates do come free.
How many caricatures can Nick draw in an hour?
Nine to eleven at a live event. The exact number moves a little depending on how detailed the drawings are and how the event is running.
What does it cost?
Live events are priced on hours, location and guest numbers; commissions are priced per piece depending on complexity and the number of people in it. Send your details and you'll have a firm price within 24 hours — no obligation.
Does Nick travel outside London?
Yes. Nick is based in London and works throughout the UK and internationally — he has drawn across Europe, the USA and beyond. Travel and accommodation for distant events are agreed up front as part of the quote.
What does Nick need on the day?
Very little. A small amount of floor space and reasonable light. He brings his own board, paper and materials, and can draw standing in a crowd or seated at a table.
Can I commission a piece without booking an event?
Yes — studio commissions are worked up from photographs you supply, from a single portrait to a complex group scene. They make particularly good retirement, wedding and milestone-birthday gifts.
